Opened in 1915, Mount Vernon Country Club is one of the oldest golf courses in Ohio. Over the years it has become one of central Ohio’s premier golfing destinations. Nestled amongst the rolling hills of Knox County, the course boasts an idyllic setting and scenic views. The undulating terrain provides plenty of elevated tees that offer panoramic vistas. The well manicured greens are fast and the fairways are lined with mature trees. The course presents an interesting layout of traditional holes balanced with more modern elements. Strategically placed bunkers protect the greens and there are water hazards coming into play on four holes, most notably on Mount Vernon Country Club’s signature 17th hole. This par 4 is the most visually intimidating and requires a downhill tee shot past serene ponds dramatically accented with a cascading fountain.
